ABOUT :
I am an artist in textiles : I paint the wild landscapes that surround me, the huge skies, sunsets, granite tors, rivers and distant sea.
My paints are my hand spun, hand dyed, British rarebreed lambswool, silks and beautiful sustainable natural fibres.
I hand knit one of a kind sweaters and hats, and weave by hand on my traditional weaving looms to make one off scarves, throws, cushions and accessories.
Unique, unrepeatable, original, wearable art.
Entirely handmade, slow artisan textiles. Unique hand knitted unisex sweaters and hats, handwoven scarves, cushions, and accessories made using handspun local British, rare breed, and heritage lambswool, mill ends of lambswool from traditional British wool mills and sustainable natural fibres.
No waste, handmade to last. And eventually biodegrade to replenish the earth.
Commissions accepted, please email me to discuss your favourite colours.
Handspun, dyed, hand knitted and handwoven pieces evoke the changing colours and moods of ancient Dartmoor. Slow contemporary artisan textiles.
Celebrating British, heritage and rare breed lambswool and sustainable natural fibres. Moorland colours and textures, undyed and naturally dyed.
Individual one off pieces. Beautiful lambswool and natural fibres handspun on my spinning wheels, or British lambswool sourced from small local independent mills, then handwoven on my floor loom or knitted by hand with knitting needles
Handmade on Dartmoor to last.

5 out of 5 starsAt least 5 words? It would take more than 500 words to describe how warm, soft and beautifully made this scarf is. Thankyou!

5 out of 5 starsShelagh was so helpful and extremely accommodating when I wanted to exchange an item for something else. I bought two items as presents. These hand-spun, hand-dyed, beautiful scarves were really not expensive and a stunning and different gift.

5 out of 5 starsI have been using this scarf regularly for almost a month and without a doubt, this has been my best purchase of the year so far. The cowl is snug, cosy and still feels soft on the neck even after a fresh shave. It offers just the right amount of protection on chilly days, not too light and not too heavy. The seller kept me updated every step of the way and the delivery was completed in good time. 20/10 Overall

Custom and personalised orders
I may be able to make similar items to order if I have the fibres available, but because these are handspun, hand dyed and handwoven it may not be possible to recreate the same colours. We can discuss your preferences.
These handmade items take a long time to make, and depend on being able to source the same or similar raw materials. The time also depends on my handspinning and weaving commitments.
Commission orders will necessarily be more expensive than stock items, usually by 50%.
Thank you.
Sizing details
Other width sizes can be ordered, depending on the width of my loom. The length can be changed with no problem as long as I am able to source the raw materials to make it.
Longer and wider weavings use more materials and take more time, so will necessarily be more expensive. A shorter weaving will cost less.
Gift wrapping and packaging
Please tell me if this is a special gift, and I will gladly gift wrap it for you...
Wholesale availability
Please contact me if you would like to stock any of my items in your shop. These are handmade and individual pieces and not mass produced
Care instructions
Wool Washing Instructions:
Hand wash only in hand hot water with gentle soap or detergent, and without agitation. Allow it to soak, then gently lift out of the water. Place in similar temperature rinse water and soak again.
Sudden changes of temperature from hot to cold, and rubbing or agitation can cause the wool to felt or shrink.
Gently lift out of the rinse water, squeeze gently or run the gentle spin cycle in your washing machine (not the rinse cycle as too vigorous) to remove excess water. Do not wring, twist or put in the tumble dryer.
Hang to dry or dry flat away from direct heat. Steam or steam iron if necessary.
